1. Who publishes Le Récap

Le Récap is an independent project published under the name Foxtaming by a private individual. To date, that person is not registered as a business of any kind, and the service sells nothing.

The publisher's full identity (name, legal status, company registration number, address) will be published in the legal notice when the service opens, before the first sale. Until then, take Le Récap for what it is: a free beta run by a private individual.

2. What the service does

You describe a topic and a few settings: format, length, reader level, language, research depth. Le Récap searches the web, writes a structured and sourced document, lays it out for electronic ink, then delivers it to you.

Delivery happens in one of two ways. Either by email to your Kindle, through Amazon's Send-to-Kindle gateway, a third-party service Le Récap is not affiliated with. Or by downloading the document as EPUB and PDF, two formats that work on Kobo, reMarkable, Boox, a tablet or a computer.

The document is produced automatically. No human reads it before it is sent to you.

3. Account, invitation, age

During the beta, access is by invitation. Without an invitation, no sign-in link is sent.

You sign in through a single-use link sent to your email address: there is no password. Anyone who reaches your inbox therefore reaches your account, so protect it. An account is personal and must not be shared.

The service is for people aged 15 or over. You declare this when creating your account. Once sales open, any purchase will have to be made by an adult.

4. Credits

Generating a document costs credits: 1 credit for standard research, 3 credits for deep research. Format, length, level, language and the context you add cost nothing extra.

One credit is given to you when you open your account, once per person. Credits are attached to your account: they cannot be transferred and cannot be converted into money.

Credits are not on sale to date. No payment is possible on Le Récap, and no price range mentioned elsewhere on the site is contractually binding. The terms of sale (prices including tax, VAT, payment methods, invoicing, how long purchased credits remain valid) will be published here before the first sale, together with the publisher's full identity.

Validity: the credits we give you remain usable for the whole beta. We are not setting an expiry date today that we would then have to change. If a limit is ever introduced, you will be told by email at least 30 days in advance.

To protect the service and its cost, each account is limited to 3 documents per day and one generation at a time.

5. Refunds and quality

If a generation fails for a technical reason, the credit charged is returned to you automatically, with nothing to do on your side. A topic rejected by moderation is never charged.

If the delivered document does not match what the service promises (empty, off topic, truncated, in the wrong language), flag it with a thumbs down or write to us: we regenerate the document or return the credit. This is the statutory guarantee of conformity for digital content (articles L224-25-12 and following of the French Consumer Code); it cannot be set aside by contract.

Disagreeing with the substance, meaning a sound document that does not suit you, is not covered by that guarantee. During the beta we return the credit anyway: it is simpler for everyone.

6. What we do not guarantee

A Le Récap document is written by an AI from sources found on the web. It can contain mistakes, omissions, misread figures or misunderstood sources. We guarantee neither the accuracy, nor the completeness, nor the timeliness of its content.

We test source URLs at generation time and remove dead links. That check covers whether the link works, not whether what it says is true.

A document is a study and synthesis aid. It replaces neither your course material, nor official texts, nor professional advice (medical, legal, financial or otherwise). Check what matters before relying on it.

7. Right of withdrawal: what we ask you

A document is digital content made for you and delivered immediately. In that specific case the law allows you to waive the fourteen-day right of withdrawal, provided you say so clearly (articles L221-25 and L221-28, 13° of the French Consumer Code).

So, before your first generation, we ask you for two things in a single checkbox: you expressly request that the document be produced immediately, and you expressly waive your right of withdrawal on that document once it is produced. Without that box, generation does not start. The date of your agreement is kept as proof, and the same request will be made at every credit purchase once sales open.

This waiver covers the generated document, nothing else. It affects neither the statutory guarantee of conformity, nor the automatic refund when generation fails, nor your freedom to close your account whenever you want.

8. What you undertake not to do

You remain responsible for the topics you request and for what you do with the documents you receive. The details are in the acceptable use policy, which is part of these terms.

In short: nothing illegal, no attempt to get around moderation, no dossier on an identifiable person, and no document handed in as your own graded work. Le Récap is for studying, not cheating.

9. The documents produced are yours

You may read, print, annotate, share or reuse the documents you generate, for any lawful purpose. We assign you whatever rights we might hold in those documents, with no limit of time or territory, and we resell them to no one.

One honest caveat: a text produced by a machine has no author under copyright law. So we can guarantee neither its originality nor its exclusivity. A similar topic requested by someone else will produce a similar document.

Quotations and extracts taken from sources remain the property of their authors: they are kept short, attributed and accompanied by their link. If you pass a document on, keep those credits and the AI marking.

10. AI marking

Every document carries, right on its title page, the notice "AI-generated document — verify important information". The same marking is written into the metadata of the EPUB or PDF file, in a machine-readable format.

This marking answers article 50 of the European regulation on artificial intelligence (2024/1689), which requires artificially generated content to be flagged in a machine-readable format. It also serves the reader, you or whoever you pass the document to: everyone should know what they are holding.

This marking is part of the document. Do not remove it when you share it.

11. Delivery to an e-reader

Kindle delivery goes through Amazon's Send-to-Kindle gateway. Amazon is a third party: its rules can change without notice and a delivery can fail for reasons beyond our control.

You must own the destination account and approve our sending address in your Amazon settings. The delivered document is for your personal use. Amazon does not charge for a document received on an e-reader connected over Wi-Fi; in some countries it may charge for delivery over a mobile network.

If the gateway does not work, EPUB and PDF downloads remain available from your account. That path is maintained with the same care as Kindle delivery.

12. Availability and changes

The service is in beta. It can be interrupted, slowed down or modified without notice, and we promise no availability level.

We may suspend new generations, for instance if costs run away or a provider goes down. In that case no credit is charged, and documents already produced remain downloadable.

Formats, settings, quotas and the AI models used may change. Any significant change to these terms will be announced by email before it takes effect; if it does not suit you, you can close your account.

13. Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time from your settings, in one click. Deletion erases your profile, your documents and the matching files: it is immediate and final. Download whatever you want to keep first.

Unused credits disappear with the account. Since no credit can be bought today, no money is at stake; what happens to purchased credits will be settled in the terms of sale published when the service opens.

On our side, we may suspend or close an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms or of the acceptable use policy. We give notice by email, and your reply is read by a person rather than an automated filter.

14. Liability

We are liable for the harm we cause under ordinary law. Nothing here limits the statutory guarantees you enjoy as a consumer.

On the other hand, we are not liable for the decisions you make based on a document, for what you do with it, or for how third-party services behave: Amazon, your email provider, your e-reader.

15. Complaints and mediation

Write to contact@lerecap.app first: we answer within five working days.

If the disagreement persists, a consumer may refer the matter free of charge to a consumer ombudsman (article L612-1 of the French Consumer Code). To date no ombudsman has been appointed: we will join a mediation scheme before sales open, and the ombudsman's name and contact details will be published here.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. If you live in another European Union country, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence.

In case of a dispute, the French courts have jurisdiction, subject to the rules that protect consumers.

17. Version and acceptance

Version in force: 30 July 2026. This is the first one. Your acceptance is recorded with its date when you create your account.
