Acceptable use policy

This policy is part of the terms. It states what you cannot ask Le Récap for, and what happens when the rule is broken. It comes down to one idea: the service helps you understand and revise; it is not there to cheat with, or to harm anyone.
1. Study, don't cheat
Le Récap is made to understand a topic, prepare for a test or read up on a new field. It is study material, like a textbook or a revision sheet.
You may not hand in a Le Récap document, in whole or in part, as your own graded work (homework, essay, dissertation, report, exam) where your school, university or employer forbids it. Their rules apply, and they are more specific than ours.
The "AI-generated document" marking is part of the document. Removing it to pass the text off as yours is a breach of this policy.
2. What is forbidden
Unlawful content: incitement to hatred or violence, harassment, glorification of terrorism, sexual content involving minors, defamation, counterfeiting.
Anything that endangers: instructions for weapons, explosives or dangerous substances, help with hacking, fraud or money laundering.
Getting around moderation: rephrasing a rejected topic to slip past the filter, splitting a forbidden request into pieces, hiding instructions in the context field.
Harvesting personal data: asking for a dossier on an identifiable individual, gathering private information, profiling or monitoring someone. Public officials acting in their official capacity remain a legitimate subject of study; their private life does not.
Infringing authors' rights: asking for a protected text to be reproduced, having a single press article summarised instead of reading it, or getting around a paywall. Le Récap quotes briefly, cross-checks several sources and gives the links: that is what keeps the exercise lawful.
Industrial use: generating in bulk to republish, resell or feed a content site; creating several accounts to get around the quotas; sharing or reselling your access.
Attacks on the service: trying to reach other people's documents, probing the infrastructure, extracting the generator's internal instructions, or automating the interface.
Passing a document off as professional advice for someone else (medical, legal, financial). A Le Récap document is an AI-generated summary, not a professional's opinion.
3. How we apply these rules
Every topic goes through automatic moderation before generation. A rejected topic is not produced and costs no credit.
We do not read your documents as a matter of principle: they sit in a private space. We only look into an account after a report, or when a technical signal calls for it (abnormal volume, runaway cost, errors in series).
We use AI models supplied by third parties. Their own usage rules apply on top of ours: abuse can cost us access to those models, and therefore cost everyone the service.
4. Consequences
The response is graded: topic rejected, warning by email, suspension, then account closure for a serious or repeated breach.
Manifestly unlawful content leads to immediate suspension, and to a report to the authorities where the law requires it.
A closure decided by us is notified to you by email, and you can reply, and a person reviews it and can reverse the decision. Once sales open, purchased and unused credits will be refunded, except in case of fraud.
5. Reporting abuse or an error
Write to contact@lerecap.app with "report" in the subject line. Describe the document, account or content concerned, and why it is a problem. We answer within five working days.
If a document you received contains a serious error, tell us as well: that is what lets us fix the generation instructions. And you get the credit back.
